Location
Our house is located in the center of Braunwald. From the funicular it is only a few meters to the Adrenalin. Grocery and sports stores are just a few steps away.
Arrival
The car-free vacation resort of Braunwald is situated in the southernmost part of the Glarus region, on a gently sloping and southeast-facing sun terrace, high above the valley of the Linth, at an altitude of 1,300 m.a.s.l. This means that Braunwald is far away from the hustle and bustle and traffic. The wonderful panorama of the Glarus Alps with Ortstock, Tödi, Biferten and Hausstock is within reach. "Best conditions for relaxing vacations!"

Braunwald Railway
For over 100 years, the Braunwald funicular has been transporting locals and guests up to the car-free sun terrace of Braunwald. As one of the steepest funiculars in the world, it impresses every passenger.
The funicular runs daily from 5:55 a.m. - 11:55 p.m. at half-hourly intervals during peak hours, and at hourly intervals during off-peak hours.

Train connection with express train (IC from Basel and EC from Berlin/Hamburg/Amsterdam/Brussels) via Zurich every hour directly to Linthal-Braunwaldbahn. With the S25 at xx.43 from Zurich HB.
The S25 (formerly Glarnersprinter) is part of the Zurich S-Bahn. With the S25 you travel on the fastest way to Zurich and back.

With own car
From Zurich in approx. 70 minutes or from Chur/Sargans via the freeway (A3) to the Niederurnen exit; then main road in the direction of Glarus/Klausen (approx. 30 km to the Linthal valley station). From approx. 20 May until the end of October: Klausenpass road from Central Switzerland. You can find the detailed travel map here.
